Classes
Academy students are required to take the following classes during their high school career:
Freshmen Year:
Health Science and Biology
Sophomore Year:
Sports Medicine I and Chemistry
Junior Year:
Sports Medicine II * (Honors) and
Anatomy and Physiology (Honors)
Senior Year:
Medical Terminology ** (Optional; Up to 9 college credits)
* Student must earn the Career and Technology Education (CTE) Endorsement to earn 3 college credits. To earn the endorsement students must pass Health Science, Sports Medicine I and II with a "B" average and pass both the Nevada State Sports Medicine Exam and Nevada Workplace Readiness Exam.
** Students must earn their CTE endorsement and pass this class with a "B" to earn 3 college credits. Students will take this class in conjunction with the online college "Health Science" class and must pass the online class to earn an additional 3 college credits each semester for a total of 9 credits.
